Strong. Connected. Prosperous.
I am the grandson of Jean (Waikaremoana) and Kara Puketapu (Waiwhetū). I was raised on our whānau farm in Wainui-o-mata.
I have a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters in Resource Management from the University of Otago.
In 2015, I was fortunate enough to be selected to participate in the Asia Pacific Leadership Programme, at the East West Center in Hawaii.
Currently I work at Horizons Regional Council, Palmerston North as a Policy Analyst, supporting iwi in their freshwater projects and Treaty Settlement processes, including the Whanganui River Settlement.
I am seeking election onto the Port Nicholson Block Settlement Trust (PNBST), under the spirit of 'Taranaki Whānui E Tū - ensuring the people of Taranaki Whānui Stand Tall, through:
- Reclaiming their right to maintain a STRONG and sustainable presence, within Te Ika a Maui;
- Ensuring we are CONNECTED to our history, people, language, places, tikanga and our marae;
- Are PROSPEROUS in our financial wealth, culture and health
The lack of REAL ENGAGEMENT around the Shelly Bay sale proposal and also the sale of Waiwhetū School, are signposts for change.
You have an ability to make a difference, if you act now.
Please choose your six candidates wisely, as those individuals will be responsible for ensuring the People of Taranaki Whānui, Stand Tall.
