Strong. Connected. Prosperous
My father Ihakara Puketapu was one of the 11 original Trustees.
I hold a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Commercial Law and am completing my Masters in Applied Finance.
Finance and business acumen are the strengths I bring, to lower the Trusts costs and establish financial stability and growth.
For the last 4 years, my 5 year old son and I have been living in New York, USA. There, I successfully launched two new businesses (CrossFit Gym and Yoga Studio), which I then on-sold for a profit.
Upon returning to Wellington I took up an Analyst position at the New Zealand Stock Exchange.
My role allows me a unique footing in NZ’s financial industry and the opportunity to interact with the decision makers of New Zealand’s largest companies.
I see a need to provide financial assistance to our people, particularly to assist them with their academic studies.
Should I be elected, I pledge the majority of my annual Trustees Fees back to our Taranaki Whānui, in the form of 2 x $3,000 Academic Grants.
As a Trustee, I will ensure that everything possible is done to settle the Wai 105 claim.
The Trust is at a turning point and needs to regain the TRUST of our people by being transparent in its dealings, listening to our member’s voices and acting with integrity.
“As your new representatives, we will grow and develop our assets for Taranaki Whānui”
